About Overseas Contract Jobs

Hi I’m Chuck Burns. I got myself into a situation that made me look for overseas contract jobs. This website is about getting those high paying contractor jobs overseas.

A news story about a farmer who saved his farm by getting a truck driving job in Iraq gave me the idea and I thought to myself “I can do that”! Well, after that brainstorm I got on the Internet and searched Google for “Iraq Jobs”. I was surprised and excited to find that there were lots of websites for overseas contract jobs. I updated my resume and sent applications to five different jobs. Some were overseas contract jobs in Afghanistan and some were overseas contractor jobs Iraq.

I had an email within a week with a name and phone number. I talked on the phone with the vice president of a special projects division of the multi-billion dollar Jacobs Engineering company. That call lasted for 20 minutes after which I was set up with another phone interview with the Colonel who was in charge of the robotics division of Joint Project Office in Huntsville. AL. The Colonel and I talked for half an hour and he explained what he needed. He hired me by the end of that phone call and thirty days later I was in Iraq.

Most overseas contract jobs don’t go that quickly. I was in luck because I had a current passport, and my prior military experience was in the technology field they required, and there was a new contract start up and they needed technicians to start work immediately. In fact they needed help so badly that they some of the people they hired weren’t technically qualified but they had good resumes. That is a good hint, the resume will go far in getting you into some good overseas contract jobs.

I worked in Iraq for three years and then worked an additional 12 months in Afghanistan. Those overseas contract jobs allowed me to pay off all my debt, my mortgage, my car, my credit card. I just returned back home and at age 64 I plan to stay home. Working at overseas contract jobs in Iraq and Afghanistan helped me achieve my goal, and get out of debt.
